Search for the Golden Dolphin

Das man beim spielen auch noch etwas lernen kann erleben wir zwar nicht all zu häufig jedoch gibt es solche Fälle. Wenn es sich dabei um ein Adventure handelt spricht man im allgemeinen von Edutainment-Spielen. Search for the Golden Dolphin ist ein solches. Wir befinden uns an Bord der Fregatte "Declaration" mitten im Pazifik im auslaufenden 18. Jahrhundert. Der Konflikt zwischen den USA und Frankreich bildet den Rahmen für unseren Lern- und Abenteuerspass. Grafisch sehr schön in Szene gesetzt besteht unsere Aufgabe darin das gekaperte Schiff "Golden Dolphin" auf der sich unser Vater befindet ausfindig zu machen. Klingt leicht, ist es aber nicht. Bis zu unserem Ziel müssen wir eine Menge Nüsse knacken und lernen dabei ohne störende Nebenwirkung auch noch einiges über diese Zeit.

INHALT: The year is 1799, and you play a United States Navy officer sent on a mission to retrieve the U.S.S. Golden Dolphin from pirate hands. You must find clues regarding the ship's whereabouts and infiltrate it as a sailor, as well as find a way to take it out of the pirate's control - all while the French and U.S. navys are duking it out in the West Indies.
Gameplay consists of a first-person point-and-click adventure game a la Myst. With graphics consisting of pre-rendered and digitized characters and objects over static backgrounds. Most of the gameplay revolves around solving item-related puzzles and interacting with characters for the gathering of clues.
